I Need Thee Every Hour

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Strength is defined as the quality of being strong: capacity for exertion or endurance. In times of trouble, we find ourselves praying for strength to endure the storms of life. It is a fact that the human spirit fails unless the Holy Spirit prevails; our strength comes only from the Lord.
On this journey of life, we will have trials and tribulations; the Apostle Peter warned us of trials to come in 1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:”
My friends, God loves us and provides all the strength that we need to walk this journey home. I recall a story of a young woman who was walking home from school; a young man who watched her as she passed each day, decided to ask if he could walk with her. She declined his offer. He was obviously hurt from the rejection, especially noticing that she always walked alone. Therefore, he confronted her one day and wanted to know why she refused his offer, especially when he knew she walked home alone each day. Her response with a smile was…when you see me, I am never alone.
In difficult times, and certainly in life there will be many… we can faithfully look to the One who has promised to never leave us alone… Jesus Christ our LORD… “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5.
Let us hasten to the throne of grace and ask God for the strength that we need to run this Christian race; His strength is made perfect in our weakest of time; and may God help us all to let go and let God, relying on His amazing grace now and forever! “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me”. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
Many times, as I bow down in prayer, I can hear in my heart the voice of the late Rev. C. B. Dailey, singing these words:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior
I come to Thee.
God is the joy and strength of our lives… He is able to comfort, guide, and keep us in perfect peace. So, if you need to run to the foot of the cross today, Jesus is waiting to meet you there, and provide all that you need!
God blessings of joy, peace, and comfort keep you all!
