Overcoming Adversity
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” -Michael Jordan. As God’s beloved children it is inevitable that we will face obstacles in this life; Satan seeks to divert our attention and take us off the divine course that God has planned for us, but we have the power of the Holy Ghost that lives within to overcoming the adversity of the enemy! “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
It is easy to become discouraged and irritated when we are trying to accomplish a task and roadblocks are consistently thrown in our way. So, what do we do? Stay vigilant, Satan and his demonic forces are constantly setting landmines in our pathway; we must stand strong and watch as well as pray, as the apostle Paul wrote “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesian 6:10-11.
It is imperative that we remember that we are the sons of God! He is sovereign, omnipotent, and directing our footsteps according to His divine will “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Regardless of what things may seem like, in and through Christ our Lord we are victorious.
I once heard that the most qualified soldiers are more often than not sent into the heat of the battle; my friends, we have been given divine marching orders and are placed in this spiritual battle exactly where our Heavenly Father sees fit for us to be… rest assured that He will never lead us, where His amazing grace will not keep us! “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
So. let us fight the good fight of faith, stay in prayer, meditate on His Word, and remain confident in His omnipotence and love. “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13.
God blessings and peace to all.
