Mark the Perfect Man

“Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” Psalms 37:37

The word mark in Psalm 37:37 admonishes us to observe, watch carefully and notice the actions of the perfect and upright man. The Thirty-seventh Psalm gives a vivid contrast between the wicked and the righteous; the perfect or complete and upright man is one who desires to please God and follow the path where He leads…obedience and submission to the will of God always leads to peace!  “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” Psalm 37:37.

In this life it does not matter what we have or will accomplish, the choice between following that which is good opposed to evil is where the rubber meets the road… but the pathway to righteousness cannot be achieve on our own… Romans 3:23 state “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” It is by God’s amazing grace through Jesus’ atoning blood on the cross that we are able to be cleansed from all unrighteousness.

Humanity failed way back in the Garden of Eden, sin severed our relationship with God . . .  but His amazing grace provided reconciliation and eternal life to all who will accept it…  it is all about God and none of us! Roman 5:17 state “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

Jesus paid it all on Calvary’s Cross so that we can live in a right relationship with our Heavenly Father. Yes…we can “mark” the perfect man, even though this life takes us through a series of ups and downs; God will always provide, protect, guide, and take care of His own.

Look at Job who was characterized as a perfect and upright man“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.”

Job lost everything that he had, his health, his family, his wealth… God allowed Satan to put forth his hand and touch all that Job had but his life and in the end the bible states that the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.  God is the divine orchestrator of all events…He is sovereign and Almighty; we may not understand all that He allows; but what we do know, regardless to what we encounter in this life; God loves us unconditionally and Romans 8:28 reminds us  “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

So, no matter how the unjust appear to prosper or how hard the challenges of life may seem; God has greater things in store for us “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Let us pray that the unbelieving will mark and take notice of the perfect and upright man who follows the road less traveled, leading to everlasting peace and unspeakable joy!

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference. – Robert Frost

God’s blessing of peace and grace be with you always!
