Abounding in Love!

“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;” Philippians 1:9.
As Christians we are partners in the gospel. What a blessing it is to intercede for one another to run this Christian race with spiritual joy, strength, peace, and fellowship. We praise and honor God when we live in sincerity of our calling, strive to be good, do good and exceed in good works. The apostle Paul prayed that the saints in Philippi’s love would consistently flourish. “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;” Philippians 1:9.
It is impossible to be sincere, do good or even be good without the love of God living within us; we are imperfect, we error, but we do not need to fear, because it is through Him that we can walk in righteousness; it is Christ in us that produces fruit and continually fills us to act, think and desire the good will of others. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13.
Let us consistently exam ourselves, asking what is implied by the lives that we are living- are we living out what God has so graciously placed in us-are we making full use of our gifts? The Holy Spirit gives us the power to bring forth fruits of righteousness or literally release the effects of Christ righteousness imputed in our lives! “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7.
To whom much is given, much is required; our lives should be an expression of Christ love for us… “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.” John 15:9. Let us fervently pray that our character, conduct, and conversations point others to Christ; we just may be the only expression of God’s love that someone sees today… won’t you throw out the lifeline to some lost soul?!
Throw out the lifeline! Throw out the lifeline!
Someone is drifting away;
Throw out the lifeline! Throw out the lifeline!
Someone is sinking today.
