A Well Nourished Tree
“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3
A deep-rooted tree can survive prolonged dry periods; it has the capacity to uptake water below the ground far beyond what can be seen with the natural eye… the roots run so deep that even in the most adverse conditions they can reach the rich nourishment and water under great depths below the earth’s surface.
The Psalmist in the 1st Psalm writes of a blessed man who meditates on God’s word; he is synonymous to those deep-rooted trees that receive rich nourishment from a constant flowing stream from deep within; he receives life giving water from on high; recall when Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well about the water that only He can give? “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life”
My dear sisters and brothers in Christ, we all have and will experience prolong dry periods in the form of conditions that can grip us right to the core of our being, things such as a debilitating illness, depression, anxiety, fear, loss or separation of people or things close to the heart -and that is just to name a few; but no one ever promised that this life would be one of ease…consider the testimony God’s servant Job who the bible tells us was a perfect and upright man…but Job lost all that he had -but he held on to the faithfulness and love of God!
“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10. The Bible tells us that God’s blessing for Job were for greater than any of his losses: “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10.
God’s beloved child… if the road that you’re traveling seems dark and endless- just hold on and look ahead in the power of the Holy Ghost… for the divine nourishing and life giving water of Jesus that flows within our hearts strengthens, succors, and keeps us anchored in the midst of the most raging storms of life!“
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.” Psalm 46:1-5.
Know that the promises of God are faithful and true, and when we delight ourselves in the Lord, we will be just as that well-nourished tree– the life-giving water that flows through our belly brings innumerous spiritual blessings, such as joy, peace, comfort, reassurance of provision, protection, healing, and God’s unconditional love forever…praise God, it quenches our thirst for all things!
So just carefully observe, and take notice the life of all God’s beloved children who strive to remain steadfast and obedient to His will and way; though the road may be mighty rough at times-we are blessed, as He has promised “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3. God will take care of you!
God blessings and great joy, peace and comfort to all.
