“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves” Matthew 7:15.

There are thousands of Bible translations worldwide-and of those, there are over 900 english versions. That should be quite alarming as to which ones are really telling the truth-but the world gravitates to finding everything with ease, spelled out for us, explained and given with immediacy. Many are sleeping to the fact that the enemy of our souls-seeks to steal the truth from our heart and are lost to the free gift of eternal life! “And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.” Mark 4:4.

The Word of the Lord warns us about false prophets in Matthew 7:15-“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves”  That gives the image of those who are deceitful and utilizes cunning devices to keep us from the truth.

We are in a spiritual warfare, my friends-the Bible is sixty-six books of the greatest love story ever told, it tells of God’s  love and redemption plan for all mankind- it provides peace, comfort, love, direction, assurance, the only way to salvation- which is Jesus- our redeemer and lover of our souls…yes it gives us the hope and promise of so many other blessings that the mere eye cannot see! “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119: 105.

But- as the word of the Lord has admonished us there are false prophets among us, and they have come in sheep’s clothing-that is the pretense of being messengers from the one true and living God..when in actuality they are of their father the devil- and have come to take us out! “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44. But nothing and no one can touch the child of the one true and living God!

So, how do you know the difference- let me give you an analogy: did you know that to us zebras all look alike- they are black and white stripped-but in actuality their stripes are just like our fingerprints-they are unique to each individual zebra-and when they are born the mother takes the baby away from the herd and keeps it with her for sometime-this allows the baby to only focus on the mother-and when she returns the zebra to the herd it recognizes and know it’s mother!

My friends the word of the Lord tells us that “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:27. When you belong to the Most high God-and His Spirit-the Holy Spirit resides within you-you will know the truth! “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26.

Keep your eyes on Jesus… seek the truth-“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. Faithfully follow where the Holy Spirit leads and you will not be easily decieved to the cunning ploys of the enemy-instead you will walk by faith and not by sight! (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Corinthians 5:7. as the old gospel hymn goes…Let Jesus lead you all the way!

To God we give the glory that He guides us in the way everlasting and the enemy will never pluck us out of His hand! “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:28.
