‘Tis Grace hath Brought me Safe thus Far!

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

The song writer John Newton penned these words in the third stanza of the beloved hymn Amazing Grace: “Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home…”

My friends, we all have a story to tell… if you have ever been through something and God has brought you out-you’ve got a story! However, I have to put you on notice the arch enemy of our souls, that old devil, Satan will always  try and deter you from telling the world just how miraculous and powerful our Lord God Almighty is-he slyly whispers in your ear…you’ve told that story so many times- everybody has heard it- but my friends to God belongs all  the glory every day of our lives, when He has brought you, and kept you, and continue to sustain you through life ups and downs-tell it- someone needs to hear the there is absolutely nothing impossible with God! “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.

So here’s just another peek at just some of my story thus far…God knows I have much more to attest to of God’s goodness and power! He lovingly provided healing for me one Saturday morning over twenty – eight years’ ago; I woke up extremely ill, the doctors in the emergency room  stated  that both my kidneys had failed to the degree that I would have to be placed on dialysis immediately… I was fearful and didn’t know what to expect, my mother was there with me, but she was unable to go in that dialysis unit with me… there are some things in life that only you and God can go through. So, I began to pray and recite the 23rd Psalm … especially taking not of the 4th verse: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” And God took me through not only that day of dialysis treatments, but one complete year of peritoneal dialysis from 1995 – 1996.

I am a living witness that God can and do perform miracles every day. After being placed on the transplant list in October of 1996, I received a call only two weeks later that a match was found… twenty-eight years ago that was unheard of…as of today over 112,000 patients are actively on the organ transplant list. Every three minutes another name is added and as of this date the wait for a donor organ is approximately 5-10 years. Unfortunately, over 22 people die a day waiting on a transplant. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

As bleak as the statistic may sound, I am a living witness to someone out there to not allow these numbers to startle you as though you have no hope…for our God, the Great I AM has all power and He can do the impossible. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:10.

The doctors stated when I went into surgery at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, that if it was not almost a perfect match they would come out without doing the transplant…I woke up on October 21, 1996 with a new kidney. .. nothing but the grace of Almighty God and I am still living with that  one functioning transplanted kidney today in 2025 by His divine power alone- so I sing in my soul  the words of Mr. Newton-‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home…”

Is there anything too hard for God? NOTHING is impossible for my God to do! If you’re waiting today on your miracle or one for a loved one- it just may also be a debilitating illness, or financial loss or even the enemy’s spiritual strongholds set to destroy … but know that God has the power to provide just what you need at the appointed time. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

We all have a story to tell; but the greatest story of all to tell is about the One who sacrificed His life on Calvary’s Cross, my friends, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day morning with all power in His hands and lives forevermore – that you and I may have the right to eternal life!.  God uses miraculous events in our lives to mold us into the vessels that He wants us to be…vessels that are eager to tell the amazing grace of our risen Savior and His power to do the impossible. Go out and tell His story today…and be let your life story  be a witness to the power of Almighty God!

Blessing and peace for a great day and remember, God is never fails!
