A Message of Hope

“When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Psalm 73:16-17

A mere sixteen-year-old is just a baby compared to life expectancy. But the refusal of the powers that govern our land allows firearms to be easily accessible to the vast majority. As a result, irresponsible youth are murdering one another in alarming numbers. In the meantime, the rich get richer.

Our world is in the midst of a devastating pandemic. The infectious viral strands of Covid-19 continue to spread throughout our land and is affecting our lives in every way imaginable. Yet, the decision makers two years later, still chose to error on the side of political and economic correctness oppose to the sanctity of life.

This all appears quite dismal and disheartening at times; but every born-again believer knows that God alone provides hope, peace, healing, and the unspeakable joy that we need. Regardless to what we see and hear; our hope is built on the one and only Potentate, Jesus Christ our Lord!

He formed the world and everything that is within. Psalm 24:1 state: “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”  Satan desires for us to have a defeatist attitude, but we are victorious through our Lord and Savior. His marvelous light dispels all darkness. He is the giver of life and makes a way where there appears to be no way.

The prophet Asaph in the 73rd Psalm was facing similar feelings of despondency until he came to himself and stated” When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.”  Psalm 73:16-17.

A wonderful change came over Asaph’s heart when he went into the sanctuary of God-not the literal temple in Jerusalem, but the heavenly one that he entered by faith! My friends let us enter into that same heavenly sanctuary today by faith. We can run to the foot of the cross. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 15:7

It is our job as children of God to stay fervent in prayer and shine as lights in this dark world. We must wholeheartedly commit to spreading the gospel message to all men. God’s love, compassion and grace are able to sustain us and heal the current ills of this world. We must trust in His infinite wisdom and mercy. He will continue to guide, protect, and give us spiritual discernment now and forever.

So, as we take advantage of the beautiful day that God has so graciously given; let us remember that everyone is going through something; may we speak words of healing, sending out a message of hope to all that we interact with along our way.

Edward Mote was a pastor and hymn writer, who wrote the inspiring lyrics to “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less” it expresses the unconditional love and peace that we have to stand on our hope for every tomorrow… Christ, the solid Rock!

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.

Blessing and peace to all.
