Coming in His Presence

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22

All that we understand to be true from God’s holy Word is that He is love and He loves us. Sin separated us from God, but His amazing grace provided salvation and deliverance for all men. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. However, we must individually receive His gift of eternal life.

God is Holy and Righteous; so how do we enter God’s holy presence now and forevermore? Is He our backyard fence Buddy in the sky? Can we just charge into His presence and ask whatever favors we need and want? Or is there a right and wrong way to enter the presence of the King of kings?

The truth is, one day we will all stand in His presence face to face, we will either hear Him say well done thy good and faithful servant or Depart from Me thy worker of iniquity. The difference will be determined by whether in this life we have come into His holy presence through the way that He has provided; and the only way to God is through Jesus the Christ! “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

God loves us and has always provide the answer to how to access His presence. Did you know that the Old Testament tabernacle was designed to teach Israel how to enter the presence of God? The direction for building and usage was specifically given to Moses by God. “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.” Exodus 25:8-9

Ultimately the Tabernacle symbolized Jesus as the center of our lives. A. B. Simpson wrote (Christ in the Tabernacle [Christian Publications], pp. 5-6), “The Tabernacle is the grandest of all the Old Testament types of Christ…. In its wonderful furniture, priesthood, and worship, we see, with a vividness that we find nowhere else, the glory and grace of Jesus, and the privileges of His redeemed people.”

At the entrance of the holy place was the Lever, or a basin for cleansing, the priest had to wash their hands and feet prior to entering, scripture tell us “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22. There is no salvation without the remission of sins. Jesus’ atoning blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness… praise God, that at the nineth hour when Jesus died on Calvary’s cross, the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom! Our High Priest and King of kings made it possible that we can have access and can draw near to Him with a sincere and clean heart.

Hebrews 4:16 states “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” We can have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father, once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are taken into the family, a royal priesthood! And just like the Old Testament priest entered the presence of God; when we come to Him in the forgiveness of our sins, we can ask anything according to His will and it shall be done!

So, my friends, today and everyday of our lives, let us come before our Heavenly Father in reverence and in the comfort of knowing that we have a close and intimate relationship in His presence… for there we have peace, joy, and His amazing grace to sustain and guide us forever!

God blessings of peace, love and unspeakable joy be with you all.
