Faith, Hope and Love

“”And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13:13.

I find myself in prayer multiple times through out the day for God’s grace and mercy to be extended towards all men – regardless to race, creed or social status in this life, the ills of this world affect us all one time or the other. Nations are divided- wars and rumors of wars are front and center on the media…and there appear to be no peace in sight, and consider the many who are homeless-with no secure place to lay their heads at night  or  those with failing health and  no means to acquire adequate health care or sufficient food to eat… three virtues come to my mind faith, hope and love. “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13:13.

In the midst of what this world offers in the way of pain and sorrow- which are the plight of this physical existence-Job stated it like this: “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” Job 14:1. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel…every born-again believer has enduring faith, hope and love!

These virtues  are not attainable through great feats of human success, but are found only in that Great Shepherd of the Sheep- the Great I Am, our Creator, Giver of life and the One who provides all that we need now and forever- our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Whether your issue is physical, mental, or spiritual at this moment… know that in God we have the victory.

The Bible defines what faith is and does for us: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  which we attain by the word of the Lord. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.  My friends, faith is our foundation to knowing, loving and resting in the sovereignty and peace of God…”Through faith we understand  that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3.

So, hold on…when we’re going through that’s when we must put our faith in action…faith is our response to what God has said…it brings spiritual visibilty to those things which are invisible-things that are impossible to see with our natural eye…and that gives us hope.” we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Someone said that patience is a virtue… patience is the abilty to perservere through those things that we have absolutely no control over – so then hope is not predicated on some mere wish…but on the faithful promises of God!

Hope is the very anchor of our souls- it has it foundations in the finishing work of our Savior who died on the cross, was resurrected on the third day and has given all those who believe on Him eternal life- and that’s love! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

God’s love or agape love covers a multitude of sins…it comforts, give peace and succours us through every trial and tribulation of life and it will never fail-because God is love! “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:216.

If we believe with our wholeheart that God is omnipotent and raised Jesus from the dead, that we may have the right to eternal life; then we know that He holds us safe in His everlasting arms, empowering us to live in faith, hope and love. The Apostle Paul wrote in Hebrews 13:20-21: Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

So, be encouraged…start praising God right now for the victory…because nothing- absolutely nothing that we encounter in this life can separate us from the love of God! “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.

God blessings…walk in faith, hope and the love now and always!
