God Answers the Cries of His Children!

“The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17.

A certain beggar who set on the wayside on the road to Jericho heard a great commotion. When he asked others of this occurrence, they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by, Therefore, he cried out to Jesus, saying Thou Son of David have mercy on me. But the crowds rebuked him, but he cried out even the more. Jesus heard his cry and had him brought to him. He asked him what he desired for him to do; he answered: Lord, that I may receive my sight. Luke 18:42-43 states “And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”

What a wonderful testimony to the power and compassion of our Lord and the faith of the man in him to provide what he needed. Note that when the beggar heard of Jesus passing by, that he began to cry out for Him to have mercy on him. He had already heard of who Jesus was and not only did he know  him, but he firmly believed that he had the power to heal him. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Just like this poor beggar, we cannot allow the influences of others to suppress our prayers; the prayer of faith will never go out in vain.  God hears our cries, and He will answer. “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24. Jesus answered that man’s prayers and healed him that day. . . He is still in the prayer answering business over two thousand years later!

We only need to ask for what we need, and He will provide according to His divine will for our lives. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20.

We can live a long and successful life in this world without physical sight; but spiritual sight can only be obtained through the gift of salvation, which is eternal life; it is free to all who call on the name of Jesus seeking Him in faith. ” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

When we are recipients of God’s amazing grace and mercy, we can’t help but give Him the glory; the poor beggar received both spiritual and physical sight, blessings far beyond his expectations. God is faithful and will gives us far more than we can see with the natural eye…He in an amazing God!’ “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

In grateful response the man immediately followed Jesus and glorified God for his miraculous healing.“And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.” Luke 18:43. It was a testimony to all those who saw, and heard the cry of the poor beggar…let us be encouraged today and remember that God always hear and answers the cries of His beloved children! “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17.

God blessings and peace to all!
