^“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.  And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.” John 17:9-10.

Thine is an old english or religious possessive pronoun, giving the ownership or beloning to one. In John 17:9-10- Jesus intercedes in prayer on behalf  of His disciples -those who believe in Him, unlike the world…and they have been given to Him by God the Father-for all that belongs to the Father also belong to Son (Jesus Christ)..for the Father and the Son are one! ^“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.” John 17:9.

The good news for us is that Jesus’ prayer extends to all born-again believers…we belong to God- “And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.” John 17:10. And just read a little further for Jesus continues with these words that give evidence that He has prepared the way for us since the foundations of the world! ^“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;” John 17:20.

The love of God towards us is outright amazing…search the scriptures and see that it is so… meditate on His word and listen with your wholeheart as He prays for us to have His joy, peace, protection from evil, to be sanctified in His truth-which is the word of God… and that His glory may be manifested through our lives and that the world will know that we are His, and praise God that where He is, there we may be also – the love of God is expressed through it all! “I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” John 17:23. We are one in Christ!

We can rest assured by the power of the Holy Ghost that lives within us that all of God’s beloved children belong exclusively to the Him. He is the lover and keeper of our souls…the All Sufficient One, who provides for all that we need- healeth all our diseases and makes a way out of no way and absolutely nothing and no one can ever take us out of His all powerful hands-and to that we can proclaim that I am Thine, O Lord! “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” John 10:28. 

My friends there is no safer place to be than in the arms of our Savior-what we need He will always provide and where we are headed on this journey called life…He will safely lead us! “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:1-3.

I am so thankful that I am in that number of His precious jewels and can attest that I am Thine, O Lord-and can hold to the promises that David concludes in the 23rd Psalm: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23:6.

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
